Don’t worry about putting too much credit on your account; if you’ve created a Cashless account, it’s super quick and easy to request a refund. All the money left on your Cashless account at the end of the festival can be refunded to your account or donated to our charity. The refund window will open as soon as the festival finishes, at 10:00 on Monday 11th April, and you’ll be able to apply for a refund via the Cashless section of the festival app or at snowbombing.com/cashless.
To claim any leftover funds after the festival, you must have a minimum of €2 left in your account. From Monday 11th April, you’ll be able to apply for a refund via the Cashless section of the festival app or at snowbombing.com/cashless. You will not be charged a processing fee for refunds. We aim to process all refunds within 30 working days of the date the refund request has been submitted. If you have not created a Cashless account but would still like to apply for a refund, then you simply just need to register your wristband with your email, name, wristband number and bank card so we can process the refund back to you.
Refunds can be requested between Monday 11th April 2022 and 23:59 Monday 25th April 2022. We aim to process all refunds within 30 working days of the date the refund request has been submitted.
There is no charge for refunds but you do need to have a minimum of €2 left in your account.
There is no transaction fee on your cashless payments and refunds.
In 2015, we introduced RFID technology to Snowbombing and we’ve not looked back since! This technology is full of loads of great benefits: minimal queuing at Cashless bars, no fumbling with coins/tokens, no trips to the ATM or carrying around large amounts of cash at Cashless venues, and an enhanced overall experience!
RFID technology is used to control your access to Cashless venues and enable you to buy drinks or merchandise at Snowbombing Cashless venues without carrying cash – hence Snowbombing Cashless.
You load (aka “top up”) funds onto your wristband through your online Snowbombing Cashless account and then, at the event, use your pre-loaded wristband to pay for drinks and merchandise. Simply ‘Tap’ your wristband once at the till to check your balance, then tap again to complete your payment!
As well as the online top-up service, we provide plenty of Top-Up Points around the resort for you to keep your wristband loaded. To save yourself queuing time, we’d recommend topping up online!
Creating a Snowbombing Cashless account is easy at snowbombing.com/cashless. It’s not necessary to create an account before the festival, but we encourage you to do so to save time once you’re at the festival. When you arrive at the festival site, you’ll need to go to the Wristband Collection at Europahaus with your festival ticket to collect your Cashless wristband. Then you’re all ready to go!
You can create a Cashless account and add money to it before arriving at the festival. You can use either a debit card or a credit card. For the best exchange rates, we recommend using a currency card such as Monzo or Revolut. Topping up in advance will mean no queuing when you get to the festival, and will also earn you some free “Bonus Bucks” for being so organised.
If you’d rather top up when you arrive at the festival, we would still recommend doing this online via the website (snowbombing.com/cashless) or via the festival app. However, you can also use one of the numerous Top-Up stations across the festival. Please note: all the Top-Up Points accept debit and credit cards only, to make things quicker and save you carrying loads of cash. There will be one cash Top-Up Point at the Europahaus throughout the week, for those who’d like to top-up with cash. Please note: cash top-ups will only be in Euros, we do not accept GBP.
Cashless payments can be made at The Racket Club, The Fun Haus, The Street Party, The Forest Stage, The Brück’n Stadl, The Arena, The Strass Bars, Mountaintop Brunches at The Ahornhütte and at official Snowbombing merchandise stands around the festival site.
The mountain venues (minus Mountaintop Brunches at The Ahornhütte) and the local Mayrhofen bars and restaurants do not accept Cashless payments. Please ensure that you are carrying an alternative payment method (e.g. cash or card) to make payments in these venues.
The free Bonus Bucks will automatically be added to your account. If, for example, you top-up €200, we will put an additional €20 in your account. If you top-up €300, we’ll give you €30, etc. This free credit can only be accessed once you’ve spent your actual funds. Any unspent Bonus Bucks will be non-refundable once the festival is finished.
These will both be automatically loaded onto your account and ready to go once you’ve collected your wristband.
- Your €100 Rollover Credit can be used across the full drinks menu (except double serves, shots & wine) and across all Snowbombing Cashless venues, except The Street Party, from Saturday 2nd to Tuesday 5th. If any of this free Rollover Credit is unspent by 23:59 on Tuesday 5th April 2022, it will be deactivated.
- Your €50 merchandise voucher will be redeemable in the form of an SB22 lineup t-shirt and an SB bobble beanie. Please go to the merchandise stand upon arrival to collect these. If not collected by 23:59 on Tuesday 5th April 2022, your €50 merchandise voucher will be deactivated.
- You are also invited to the exclusive “Thank You Party”, which we will email you further details about. There will be a very special DJ set, free food and you will have 3x free drink vouchers loaded onto your wristband for that party. Please note: only customers who transferred their bookings from 2020 and 2021 will have access to this party.
Your account will be set up in Euros, and any top-up funds you add to your account will be deposited in Euros. If topping up from a GBP debit or credit card, your bank’s exchange rate will apply. All payments made in Mayrhofen are in Euros.
Never worry about running out of funds! Set your Cashless account to “Auto Top Up” and whenever your card balance falls below €10, it will automatically top up with €50. That way, you can guarantee you’ll always have money on your wristband when you head to the bar! Don’t worry, if you change your mind you can opt-out at any time.
When using the online Snowbombing Cashless service, the minimum amount you can top up is €5 and the maximum amount you can top up is €500, allowing you to control your spending and set a budget that suits you.
Debit or credit cards can be used to top up your wristband, but not for making payments at the Snowbombing Cashless bars. Our Snowbombing Cashless bars will only accept payment via your cashless wristband.
Entry and exit to all in-town Snowbombing venues is controlled via RFID technology, so you will need your Cashless wristband in order to gain access to them. The Snowbombing bars, with the exception of a few, are also all cashless only, so if you want a drink, you need to top up!
After you purchase anything, the vendor will be able to show you your balance. If you create a Cashless account in advance, you can also check your balance at any time via the festival app or at snowbombing.com/cashless. You can also visit the Top-Up stations on-site to check your balance.
By having created a Snowbombing Cashless account and linking your wristband to it, you can see a history of all your top ups and purchases in your account. From here, you can also download PDF receipts if required.
You don’t have to create an account in advance, but we recommend that you do to make your arrival at the festival as easy and smooth as possible. We’re also offering free Bonus Bucks if you top-up over €200 in advance of arriving.
By the time you arrive at the resort, you should have created your Cashless account, linked your e-ticket and topped-up your funds. Now all you need is your wristband! Wristbands will be issued on arrival. Go to the clearly signposted Wristband Exchange point at the Europahaus, armed with your printed e-ticket (the one with the QR code on it) and your photo ID. Here, staff will quickly scan your e-ticket and link the personal ‘Snowbombing Cashless’ account you’ve created to your wristband, before sticking it on your wrist and sending you on your way.
Please show your VIP wristband at the merchandise stand for your 10% discount. Your free drink will be automatically loaded onto your wristband and will get you a beer, White Claw, shot, single spirit & mixer, or soft drink.
If you lose your wristband, you can block it by visiting our onsite Customer Service desk at the Europahaus, but only if you have created an account or know the 6-digit code on the back of your wristband chip. You will be able to get a new wristband, which will be credited with the balance of the Cashless account that you have blocked. If you do not create a Cashless account, then blocking your lost wristband is impossible as we won’t have the unique reference number. This is a key reason we highly advise that you create your Cashless account in advance.
Yes, everyone attending SB22 will need and have their own Cashless wristband. These wristbands will not only hold your money but allow you access to all in-town Snowbombing venues.
Absolutely. We have partnered with Weezevent, a proven cashless provider for hundreds of events across Europe. Your money is very safe in your Cashless account and on your wristband. It is highly advised to create a Cashless account so that if anything happens to your festival wristband, we can transfer the money to a new one.
No problem, this can easily be rectified by the bar staff who took your order.
The data we collect is very useful when it comes to operational purposes – especially for staffing and providing the best range of food and drinks. We do not use it to study what individuals do and none of the spending data is passed on to any third party. Our GDPR policy extends to cover the use of your data in our Cashless system.
Absolutely not, there is no GPS tracking system in the cards. It is simply a payment solution.
Everyone entering Austria, whether flying direct into Austria or passing over the border from Germany, needs to show one of the following:
- Proof of full vaccination (at least 2 jabs) OR proof of past infection (the medical document needs to show the date of recovery. For guests from the UK: an NHS email/text of a positive test is not sufficient)
- OR a negative PCR test (valid for 72 hours) OR a negative LFT/antigen test (valid for 24 hours)
- This applies to arrivals from all countries
You must bring FFP2 masks with you for your stay in Mayrhofen and for travelling. They are a mandatory requirement when passing through airports and using public transport, as well as in public settings within the resort.
You can prove your vaccination status by using the NHS COVID app, the EU COVID Pass or any international equivalent.
Follow this link to download the NHS COVID App and activate your travel certificate (England & Wales only): https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/get-digital-covid-pass/.
For people travelling from other UK nations, please follow the below links to receive your digital COVID travel certificate.
If you are flying into Germany e.g. Munich, you need to be aware of the following requirements. Anyone entering Germany over the age of 12 must have one of the following:
- Proof of a negative test, proof of vaccination or proof of recovery. Proof of negative tests must be in written or digital form, approved tests are nucleic acid amplification techniques (PCR, LAMP, TMA) and antigen tests. Tests must be taken no later than 48 hours prior to departure.
- Proof of vaccination for entry includes the EU digital COVID certificate and the NHS vaccination certificate.
- Proof of immunity acquired through previous infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus issued in written or digital form in German, English, French, Italian or Spanish. It must include the type of test and the date of the positive test.
Germany has several counties that are listed as High Risk. If an individual has visited or passed through a country on that list in the past 10 days, a digital registration form must be completed before travelling no matter the individual’s COVID-19 status. The form can be found at https://einreiseanmeldung.de/#/.
The current list of high-risk countries for Germany can be found here: https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/en/visa-service/EinreiseUndAufenthalt#content_0.
Snowbombing takes place in a town that continues to operate as usual around the festival. Please be mindful that the rules may differ slightly between local non-Snowbombing operated areas and Snowbombing operated venues.
Local regulations relating to Covid are mandated by the Austrian government, local tourist board and local authorities. How strictly enforced these measures are, varies significantly from place to place.
The following measures are the current local regulations:
- FFP2 masks are mandatory again in all public, indoor (non-Snowbombing) areas. This includes public transport, cable cars and ski lifts, shops, cultural and leisure centres, and hotels and restaurants (when not seated).
- Ski pass collection kiosks, bars, clubs and après ski locations can choose between mask wearing OR “3-G” proof (triple vaccinated/recovered or PCR tested).
We advise you bring enough masks for your entire stay at Snowbombing, the event will not be able to provide these. Masks are also sold in local shops.
We have been working closely with the Mayrhofen Tourist Board and local authorities to come to an agreement on the SB22 rules and regulations. The authorities have insisted that we have a testing regime in place.
In order to gain entry to the Snowbombing operated venues, you will need to show proof of a negative Lateral Flow Test (LFT) taken within the last 24hrs. This applies to everyone, vaccinated or not. We appreciate that this is more onerous than the current regulations in the UK. Austria has a much stricter approach to Covid regulations. We have tried to make the process as simple and easy as possible.
You can find further details on the testing process in the question below.
We are implementing these regimes to ensure an additional measure is put in place, on top of the current Austrian guidance, to ensure the safety of staff, guests and residents.
1. COLLECT YOUR FREE LATERAL FLOW TESTS ON ARRIVAL
On arrival, you will be given a free box containing 5 lateral flow tests. You will pick this up with your wristband. There is no charge for this. If you need more tests during your stay, you can pick these up from the Europahaus, the Customer Service point and the Merchandise stands.
2. COMPLETE A TEST EVERY 24 HOURS
You are required to complete an Austria lateral flow test (not an NHS test) every 24hrs in order to gain access to the Snowbombing venues.
The lateral flow tests, provided by the local tourist board, are similar to the NHS tests, they are nasal swabs only and take a few minutes to do. Please find instructions below in English and German.
3. UPLOAD YOUR TEST RESULT
Once you have taken your test, you upload the result to the Austrian government website here: https://selbsttest.tirol/register.
You will be asked to enter the address of your residence. You will need to enter your hotel/apartment address that you are staying in. Do not enter your home address.
You do not need to enter your social security number.
A video guide for taking the test and uploading the results can be found HERE.
You will then have your result certificate emailed to you directly, ready to download.
4. SHOW YOUR NEGATIVE TEST CERTIFICATE TO ENTER SB22 VENUES
Snowbombing 2022 Venues:
We ask that you wear a mask whilst in the queue for the Snowbombing venues. Get your negative test certificate ready to flash to security on the way in.
Other Venues & Restaurants Across Resort:
Under current Austrian regulations other venues and restaurants across the resort are supposed to see your 3-G status on entry.
If you test positive, please get in touch with the festival team via the incident form on the Snowbombing App. Someone will reach out to support you and provide you with advice on the next steps. They will assist in arranging further testing, alternative accommodation and onward travel.
Isolation: If you test positive, you are required to quarantine. Your vaccination status does not alter quarantine requirements. You are required to isolate for 10 days, starting from the day you had symptoms or had a confirmed positive result. You can take a PCR test again on day 5 if you have been symptom-free for 48hrs. If this result is negative, you can leave self-isolation. If this test is positive, you must continue to self isolate until day 10, when you can take another PCR test.
Accommodation: If you are travelling with a group and sharing accommodation, you will be required to move to single occupancy accommodation in order to fully self-isolate. Snowbombing can help with this process.
Travel Insurance: You are responsible for covering all costs associated with quarantine and amending travel plans, etc. We suggest you take out appropriate travel insurance to cover you in case you test positive and have to isolate.
Upon arrival into the resort, please head to the Europahaus (SBHQ) where you will find Customer Arrivals.
The official core festival dates are Monday 4th April – Saturday 9th April 2022. However, for those looking to attend our opening parties and maximise their time in the mountains, we recommend arriving on Saturday 2nd or Sunday 3rd April, and departing on Sunday 10th.
We offer a series of opening parties and events exclusive to those who arrive early. On Saturday 2nd April, we have the Fun Haus opening party. On Sunday 3rd April, experience The Arena and The Brück’n Stadl opening parties.
Your VIP ticket will grant you fast track wristband collection on arrival, fast track entry to all venues, VIP areas and bars for quicker service at The Forest Stage, The Racket Club, The Brück’n Stadl and The Street Party, 10% off merchandise at the event, a free welcome drink on arrival and maybe even a fist bump with one of the SB superstar DJs (if you’re lucky!).
Your wristband gets you into all announced Snowbombing venues, parties and events – except for a select few ticketed events including Mountaintop Brunch and comedy shows at The Arena. In order to attend these ticketed events, you will need to book online and add ticket(s) as an optional extra from your customer dashboard.
If the event takes place and travelling to Austria is possible, but you decide to cancel your booking and not attend, cancellation charges will apply. Please see our T&Cs for further information.
If you’ve never been to a ski resort before, or you’ve never experienced a music festival in the heart of the mountains, here’s the basics you’ll need:
- Waterproofs: some sturdy ski pants and a ski jacket will make sure you’re warm and dry while you’re whizzing down the slopes or dancing the day away at our mountaintop venues.
- Layers: pile on the layers so you’re warm, these will keep you toastier than one big jacket.
- Sun cream: the climate can be deceiving! It’s easy to get burnt, even if there isn’t much sun; the altitude makes you more susceptible to the UV. Make sure you bring plenty of decent sun cream, and some high factor balm to protect your lips.
- Sunglasses/goggles: ensure your sunglasses provide UV protection to protect your eyes and give you a clearer view of the mountains.
- Footwear: trainers are perfect for walking around the village, but bring a decent pair of snow boots for the mountain.
- Skis/snowboard: equipment is available to hire in the resort – or you can bring your own, there’s plenty of space on the transfer buses and there’s no extra charge.
- Towel/swimwear: make use of the incredible swimming pools and spas available at Snowbombing.
- Fancy dress: get your costumes ready for the Glitterbox takeover of The Street Party, theme announced here. (link to page if announced when this is published).
- Festival wear: the dress code is whatever you want it to be. Dress to impress or keep it casual – anything goes in this home away from home.
The festival is split between two types of venues: the mountain venues and the in-town venues, with events scheduled across the entire week. Click here to see the full list of venues. You can explore the stage splits and lineup schedule here (link if announced after this is published).
Each day, each venue opens and closes at various times. The mountain venue events take place between 12-4pm, before the night kicks off at the in-town venues from 5pm onwards, with some musical events going on until 6am. You can find the full schedule in the lineup section of the app.

When this bus stops, there is a night bus running the same route every 30 minutes. This will run until the early hours of the morning, meaning you will be able to get back to your accommodation with ease when leaving the late night music venues.

Yes, you can pre-book your equipment hire at the time of booking or at a later stage via your customer account. Pre-booking is highly recommended as your options may be limited when you arrive at the resort. Please note, hire shops generally don’t do boot hire above a size 10, any shops that do have limited stock, so if you wear any size higher than this it is recommended that you take your own boots along with you to avoid disappointment. The cut off to pre book hire is Sunday 27th March 2022.
You can collect your pre-booked equipment from the hire shop you have been allocated. The name and address of your allocated hire shop will be on your e-ticket. You must collect and return your equipment to your specified shop.
Although it’s advised you pre-book your ski equipment before arriving at the festival, you can hire ski equipment in-resort.
Pre-purchased lessons will be listed on your QR e-ticket, which will be scanned on arrival at Europahaus in exchange for a voucher for Ski School. Your first lesson is always the day after arrival. Please meet outside the Hotel Strass next to the Penken, suited & booted and with your lift pass at 0900hrs. Following your first lesson, your instructor will tell you when and where to meet for any further lessons.
