The Festival

Stop thinking all festivals are the same. Stop picturing mud, portaloos, wellies and burger vans. Switch hot tents and hangovers for the call of the wild. Replace identical insta pics for an unforgettable alpine music adventure. We can’t wait for you to join us in the mountains for a weeklong whirlwind of adrenaline, mountaintop partying, world-class live bands and DJs, luxury hotels, relaxing rooftop hot tubs, learning to ski and snowboard, alpine fondue and ice cold steins, breathtaking panoramas and endless exploring.

We invite you to join our community and build something bigger. To arrive with old friends and leave with new ones. To become a Snowbomber. To experience Snowbombing. And together create our own memories. Prepare to give your bucket-list a new reason to exist, as we welcome you on the getaway of a lifetime!

Our venues and entertainment are split between the mountain and the village, but you don’t need to ski or snowboard to access them. You can dance the day away at our panoramic terrace parties at 6,000ft or sip an ice-cold stein with epic mountain sights and a soundtrack to match – just hop on the ski lift, then walk a short distance to some of the most unique venues in the world. For more details about our sensational venues, just head to the Party & Dance page.

While each venue’s opening hours vary across the week, in general, you can expect the mountain venues to be open between 12-4 pm, with the last lift to town heading down at 4:30 pm. From then the night kicks off with entertainment at the in-town venues from 5 pm until the early morning.

The town of Mayrhofen, where all evening venues and many of the hotels are located, is easily walkable.

If you’re staying in one of the surrounding villages (including Hippach & Ramsau) there is a ski bus that runs from these villages to central Mayrhofen and to several ski lifts. The ski bus runs every 30 minutes during the daytime and once it stops there is a regular Snowbombing Night Shuttle that follows the same route. This will run until the early hours of the morning, meaning you will be able to get back to your accommodation with ease after leaving the late-night music venues.

If you’ve never been to a ski resort before, or you’ve never experienced a music festival in the heart of the mountains, here are the basics you’ll need:

  • Outerwear – some sturdy ski pants and a ski jacket will make sure you’re warm and dry while you’re whizzing down the slopes or dancing the day away at our mountaintop venues. Even if you’re not planning on heading up the mountain it’s worth bringing a warm jacket along as it gets cooler in the evenings.
  • Layers – pile on the layers so you’re these will keep you warmer than one big jacket.
  • Sun cream – The climate can be deceiving! It’s easy to get burnt, even if there isn’t much sun; the altitude makes you more susceptible to the UV. Make sure you bring plenty of decent sun cream, and some high factor balm to protect your lips.
  • Sunglasses/ Goggles – Ensure your sunglasses provide UV protection to protect your eyes and give you a clearer view of the mountains.
  • Footwear – Trainers are perfect for walking around the village, but bring a decent pair of snow boots for the mountain.
  • Skis / Snowboard – Equipment is available to hire in the resort – or you can bring your own, there’s plenty of space on the transfer buses and there’s no extra charge.
  • Towel / Swimwear – Make use of the incredible swimming pools and spas available at Snowbombing.
  • Fancy Dress – Whether you’re making your mission to the mountains on the Snowbombing Road Trip with a pitstop fancy dress party, or you’re taking part in this year’s sensational Street Party, keep your eyes peeled for this year’s themes.
  • Festival Wear – The dress code is whatever you want it to be. Dress to impress or keep it casual – anything goes in this home away from home.

Mayrhofen - The Resort

Browse our accommodation packages and pick your perfect pad for the week!

Don’t worry; plenty of Snowbombers have never been to the mountains before! Snowbombing is the perfect place to learn to board or ski. There are lessons with qualified instructors, which can be added via your Customer Dashboard, and numerous beginner slopes which cater to first-time skiers and snowboarders.

Not for you? You don’t have to ski to enjoy Snowbombing. Every day at the festival there are parties, activities, and unique mountain experiences that you can access on foot. Grab a sled and smash the Snowlympic games, hit the spa or dance the day away at our mountaintop venues – no ski boots required!

With 40+ restaurants and 20+ bars, you will never be short of options for refueling (and that’s not including the facilities on the mountain!) From traditional Austrian cuisine to pizzas, burgers, pasta, tapas, incredible vegan food and more, there’s a whole host of options to satisfy every taste and budget.

All Snowbombing hotels provide breakfast, and if you’re staying in an apartment there’s plenty of supermarkets throughout the valley where you can pick up everything you’d need.

Paying for Stuff

Snowbombing is a Cashless festival. Your festival wristband will have an RFID chip, which links to an online account that you can top up with credit at the beginning of the week. This means there no need to worry about exchange rates & carrying cash around whilst at the festival.

This technology is also full of loads more great benefits: minimal queuing at bars, no fumbling with coins/tokens, no trips to the ATM at night or carrying around large amounts of cash and an enhanced overall experience!

Entry and exit to all main Snowbombing venues is controlled via RFID technology, so you will need your cashless wristband to gain access to them. The Snowbombing bars, with the exception of a few, are also all Cashless only – so if you want a drink, you need to top up!

The main Snowbombing venues will all use the Snowbombing Cashless system, so if you want a drink, you need to top up! However, as Snowbombing takes place in the town of Mayrhofen, there are restaurants and shops where you’ll need to pay by cash or card. We’d recommend bringing a currency or travel card (ie. Monzo, Revolut, Starling etc.) to get the best exchange rates.

You will be sent information before the festival on how to activate your Cashless account. We recommend creating an account and topping up before you get to Snowbombing, so you’re ready to go on arrival!

We will have a number of Top-Up Points across the festival, if you’d like to add credit to your account via card or cash. However, we’d always encourage topping up online, to avoid queues and save yourself time!

Our Cashless system also has a super-handy optional Auto Top-Up feature. Once your account drops below a certain amount, simply set your account to automatically top up a certain amount of Euros, to the amount of your choosing.

Snowbombing is generally suitable for those with reduced mobility. However, the requirements of the traveler will need to be taken into account before assessing the suitability of this trip for a specific person. Please contact Customer Services and our team will be able to advise. They are available 09:00–17:30, Monday – Friday, on +44 (0) 161 768 0244 or via email at [email protected].

If the event takes place and traveling to Austria is possible, but you decide to cancel your booking and not attend, you may be eligible for a refund however cancellation charges will apply. Please see our Terms and Conditions for further information.

We’d recommend you have comprehensive travel insurance in place, with sufficient cover for cancellation.

Yes. If we’re unable to put the festival on due to Covid implications – including but not limited to; F&CO advising against travel to Austria, Austria being locked down, the Austrian government banning outdoor events – all customers will be offered a refund of the monies they’ve paid so far (minus the £20 booking fee).
