Our SB19 Highlights

It’s time to tell the tales of the memory makers, the venue shakers and the d-floor breakers at our 20th birthday bash! We celebrated big time with some cracking soundtracks, the Craft of Daft and plenty Schnapps. From black runs and blue runs, to beer runs and HEAPS of fun, here are our highlights from Snowbombing 2019! ?

Chase & Status Brought the Jungle to the Pines

Calling all DnB diehards, with roots at your nature, and bass at your best interest! Top of the bunch, and pinnacle of the party, Chase & Status brought the jungle to the Forest Stage, and brought out the ravenous raver in us all amongst the pines.

Supporting C&S on this mega, must-see takeover was array of DnB, dub and jungle all stars, delivering a gritty mish-mash of bass-heavy beats – SASASAS, Brockie & Det, Channel One and Special Request.

But this set wasn’t only special for it’s spectacular mountainous backdrop or it’s bass-heavy drops. This phenomenal Forest Stage closing set was held in loving memory of Keith Flint. You Snowbombers raised a wonderful £3,280 towards Calm – an incredible male suicide prevention charity – showing support and love towards such an important cause.

Fatboy Slim Flagged The Finish Line

Right place, right time? Right here, right now! Snowbombers and locals gathered in the high-streets of the ‘hof in hope to catch our fave man Fatboy Slim on a float! With a wavy shirt to match this crazy and colourful convoy, we were praising our acid house hero from the parade to the party. Flagging the finish line at the Street Party Stage, he blasted the oldies, the goldies, and treated us to a B2B with Eats Everything beneath the surreal sights and delights of the mountains.

Tom Grennan Hopped Aboard The Road Trip

The nations’ indie-pop prince hopped aboard the SB19 Road Trip to join in the fun and games of the crazy crusade! He hit the road with a team of honourable Keith Flints, playful Tamagotchis, trend-setter double-denims, and a fair few Clueless extras, working our Made in the 90’s theme. Marking the end of the Road Trip, and the start of the flip-side festivities, Tom’s intimate set at the base of the Mayrhofen mountains left us ecstatic for a second performance at the Street Party!

Camelphat Took The Terrace On A Trip

Voted the must-see artist of SB19, Camelphat swung over to the Snow Park Terrace for a belter of a daytime must-do. A set for the sweet-tooth, this high-energy crowd even brought a bunch of doughnuts to the dance floor. Washed down with a sip of 2017 house classic, Cola, this is the result of when e-numbers meet electronic music!

Topping off their week at the Racket Club with a one-off B2B with techno top-dogs, Solardo, we’re still dreaming of those iridescent lasers with a soundtrack by our tech-house faves!!!

Wilkinson Heating Up The Arctic Disco

We’re still ready for the Afterglow six years later with this bona fide, DnB boss. He’s seen the d’floor get rowdy more times than a little, and brought those infectious bass-heavy beats from the club to the mountain peak at the mid-week SB19 Arctic Disco. This RAM Records superstar is no stranger to the snow, even less so to the stage, and got the crowd down and dirty at our DnB igloo rave!

Heading For A Butchers Shop Boogie

Hans in the air folks! It’s all about a schnitzel while you sway, roast ham while you rave, and THE famous pork roll while you party! This year Waze & Odyssey, Doorly, and DJ Yoda showed us how to grill meats, make beats, and heat up Hans The Butcher’s from zero to hero with some blasts from the past, high energy classics, and a cracking record collection. Top tip: don’t dance on an empty stomach!

Sulta Called (And Casted) The Shots
After several months on Xanax, today I want to buy xanax with no prescription as it is not safe to buy on the street.
If Denis Sulta is renowned for one thing… it’s his infectious energy, bubbly beats, and calling the shots on the d’floor. A sparkling set at the Snow Park Terrace saw Sulta sharing the love and showering the crowd with mini Jägers to quench their thirst for more energetic tech tracks! It’s Only Real when this man’s out and about…

The Antarctic Monkeys Made Mad Sounds In The Fun Haus

A tribute to Sheffield’s own indie rock icons, The Antarctic Monkeys put the fun in the Fun Haus. The band packed out the place, and graced us with a fearless selection of the much-loved Monkey’s tunes. The gritty strings, vivacious vocals and kick-pedal craziness brought on some mad old mosh-pits, classic crowd surfing, and barrels of laughs to the table for a fiery Fun Haus highlight!

The Speed Dating Success Story

We get it, you’re skeptical. You’re used to swiping, not sky-high dating! But 5 minutes spent on a ski-lift with a stranger could be all it takes to meet your match in the midst of a music festival. Two lucky folks found true love on the slopes with an unplanned engagement in the snow – romance at it’s finest! Turns out, seeing a bit of passion on the piste is all it took to encourage our date-less divas to trust our chairlift cupids and get stuck in to the smooching!

Bicep’s Friday Night Finale

Friday night at The Racket still got us like ayaya… with a headline set from the trusty tech successes, the grand smash of a Friday night finale saw a gazillion giant beach balls and plenty confetti shower our underground tennis club turned super club during wavy record, ‘Rain’. As always, Bicep took the opportunity to be in and amongst the visuals, for an immersive experience on every Snowbomber’s bucket-list…

Watersplash Wingdings & Ride N’ Seeking

Our Watersplash is a challenge of character, a test of the best, a wet and wappy wingding of the piste-pros and the no-shows. We witnessed snowboards split clean in two, boarders jump their mates in the moat, and wild animals test the waters. Accompanied by a soundtrack from superstar SB selectors, it was perfect for the competitive, the clumsy, and the commentators for an afternoon of clowning around!

The Best Of The Brück

Our acclaimed alpine music mecca is the beast of the beats, the mayhem till the AM, and the liveliest wooden lodge you’ve ever got loose in! This years line-up featured an array of global key players on the underground festival circuit, hosted by top names in the game.

Watergate wowed the crowds with a curation of gritty Berlin beats, and Skream and Eats Everything closing the night. The Bedlam bunch brought us an Irish delight with genre-fusing genius, James Zabiela, and electronic idols, Maribou State. With artists such as Hunee, Mall Grab, and Groove Armada topping the bill, the thrill of the Brück is unmissable!
