The Unofficial Road To Snowbombing 2023

Dear Road Trippers,

You should have now received a mailer regarding the unfortunate cancellation of the official Snowbombing Road Trip. There are plenty of alternative ways to travel to Snowbombing – by plane or coach – see all booking options below.

For those of you still planning to drive from the UK, we’ve put together a proposed schedule – with suggested ferries, a hotel, and a stunning route! Despite being unable to put on the official Road Trip this year, we’d love for you all to link up and arrive at the festival as one. To get in touch with the other Snowbombers planning to drive to SB, chat through itineraries, share playlists and compare driving snacks – head to the “Unofficial Road to Snowbombing’ Facebook group below.

The journey is around 750 miles from Dover to Mayrhofen. Therefore, we’d suggest splitting the drive across two days, and stopping for the night in Saarbrücken, Germany – as per the following itinerary.

SATURDAY 8TH APRIL – THE FERRY

The Ferry: Head to Dover! We suggest catching a morning ferry to Calais between the times of 6am and 12pm.

We’d recommend booking your outbound and inbound ferry journey in one go, based on when you’re planning to head home from Mayrhofen.

SATURDAY 8TH APRIL – THE HOTEL

Touch down in Calais, and then it’s time to start the next part of the journey! Make your way to our friends at the 4* Superior Victor’s Residenz-Hotel Saarbrücken hotel, where you’ll spend your Saturday night.

Breakfast is included. They also have a lovely restaurant, and a bar – so you can wind down with a cold beer or glass of wine, and chat about the journey so far with your fellow Snowbombers.

SUNDAY 9TH APRIL

After a warm shower, a hearty continental breakfast and some fresh coffee, you’ll be ready to hit the road – for day two of your journey, next stop SNOWBOMBING!

The road from Saarbrücken to Mayrhofen is around 370 miles / 600km. We’d recommend aiming to be in Mayrhofen on Sunday 3rd by around 4pm – so you have time to check-in, collect your festival wristband and then come to join us for some Snowbombing festival fun!
