In our two decades of partying in the Alps, we’ve made mountains of memories and gathered many a story to share. We’ve danced at secret DJ sets that pop up all over the festival, including Mall Grab’s kitchen mix, Artwork and Eats Everything’s truck party and Skream’s Hotel Strass rave. We’ve chatted with Liam Gallagher in a skidoo and hung out with Serge from Kasabian as he serenaded us on the mountaintop, and so much more. Read six of our favourite Snowbombing Stories below so you can après-ski with your favourite artist or experience the next secret set for yourself! ?
Local legend, Hans The Butcher, has served up his famous pork rolls to Mayrhofen residents for years. Come Snowbombing, he sticks a set of decks in his butcher’s shop and throws a series of impromptu raves with special guest DJs that have included Peggy Gou, Skream, Melé, Artwork and Waze & Odyssey. Don’t miss this must-do moment!
Denis Sulta is renowned for his fun stage presence with sets packed with props. Sulta kept the drinks flowing and spirits high for the lucky Snowbombers at his Snowpark Terrace set, throwing mini bottles of Jägermeister into the crowd!
Snowbombing is packed with secret sets that require you to be in the right place at the right time ? Mall Grab and Doorly’s kitchen mix took place in the back rooms of a random 4* hotel with a group of eager Snowbombers raving amongst the kitchen crew. This experience even came with dessert!
To say thank you for headlining 2018 we took Liam Gallagher on a skidoo tour up to the Snowpark Terrace to watch Idris Elba spin against a panoramic backdrop! We often bumped into Liam wandering around the resort and enjoying the festival, so expect to bump into our SB22 headliners too!
In 2017, our Snowbombers received a text to head to a secret location. Little did they know, they were about to witness festival mainstays Artwork and Eats Everything play an impromptu B2B in a lorry, which soon became a returning pop-up stage!
Snowbombing artists love an impromptu performance. In 2013, Serge from Kasabian serenaded us on the mountaintop with a panoramic backdrop of the Alps – and we even caught it on camera! Watch a short clip of Serge’s stunning acoustic rendition of Kasabian’s Narcotic Farm here.
