SB22 Supports War Child

We are proud to announce War Child as our official charity partner for SB22, in collaboration with the town of Mayrhofen. We are raising money throughout the festival period in various ways to support children living in war-torn countries, including Ukraine, Yemen, Iraq, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo and Afghanistan.

After a couple of difficult years, we are incredibly fortunate to be back in Mayrhofen – spending valuable time with our friends, sliding down mountains, eating good food, enjoying incredible music and making unforgettable memories.

But whilst our hands may be in the air, our feet are firmly on the ground.

We are hugely appreciative of our circumstances and could not put on this year’s festival without some consideration for those less fortunate than ourselves: the people of Ukraine and the other war-torn countries across the world.

For Snowbombing 2022, we have therefore chosen to partner with War Child, who’s incredible work supports children across Ukraine, Yemen, Iraq, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo and Afghanistan.

War Child is the UK’s only specialist charity for children affected by conflict, driven by the single goal of ensuring a safe future for children who are torn from their homes, stranded at borders, are without food or water, losing family members and not knowing when they will be safe. For over 30 years, the charity works to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children living through conflict by delivering them with life-saving aid and psychological care quickly.

We’d love you to help us raise as much money for War Child across the week, and have called our campaign #NOBOMBING.

The current plan is to do this across the following touchpoints:

  • We’ve removed SNOWBOMBING from all our branding across the festival this year and replaced it with SB22.
  • We’ll have an eyecatching NO BOMBING sign at Wristband Collection (Europahaus), lit in the colours of the Ukrainian flag.
  • There will be a ‘Donate Here’ button on the Mayrhofen website for the duration of the festival
  • We’ll be selling a limited edition #NOBOMBING scarf sold on the Snowbombing merchandise stands, with all profits donated to War Child.
  • Option for customers to donate their unspent ‘Cashless’ credit to War Child at the end of the festival.
  • Guestlist places will pay €30 donation to War Child

Our final donation total will also be fund-matched by the UK Government, through War Child’s ‘Unlock A Generation’ appeal – meaning that if we all pull together, we can do something incredibly special here and really raise a lot of money!

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Like everyone, we feel helpless, but we want to turn that into positivity and harness our collective party power to do some good. We hope you’ll be able to help us in raising as much money as possible for War Child, to support their incredible efforts and to help frightened and vulnerable children in crisis in Ukraine, Yemen and conflicts around the world.
