1. What are the entry requirements for Snowbombing 2022?
The entry requirements for Snowbombing 2022 are legally required to match the rules and regulations in Austria at the time of the event.
New stricter entry measures came in effect on 20 December. To enter Austria, the “2-G+” rule is currently in place. In addition to proof of vaccination/recovery, you need a negative PCR test OR proof of a booster jab. This also means that everyone needs to be fully vaccinated or show proof of recovery (within the last 180 days), in order to access any hotel or other accommodation, bar or restaurant, outdoor or indoor venue and cable car. Negative covid tests alone are not currently accepted (PCR, Antigen, Lateral Flow or otherwise). Please bear in mind, 2-dose-vaccinations are valid for 9-months, after which a booster jab will be required.
The UK, the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway have now been classified a virus variant areas by Austria. This means that:
“People who are fully vaccinated (double jabbed) AND have received the 3rd booster jab (or the second shot in case you were jabbed with Johnson & Johnson) can enter Austria with a negative PCR test (valid 48 hours).”
The rules vary depending on how many vaccinations you’ve had, where you are travelling from, if you’ve recovered from COVID-19 and whether or not you can supply a valid PCR test. For precise information regarding your circumstance, please consult the official COVID-19 travel guidlines from both the Tirolean and Austrian authorities.
2. Do I need to be vaccinated to attend Snowbombing 2022?
If the Austrian Government maintains the 2-G+ rule over the Snowbombing 2022 festival dates, the festival will go ahead as normal, however we will only be allowed to admit people to the festival who can show proof of vaccination or proof of recovery. This is to ensure the utmost safety amongst Austrian residents, and you Snowbombers during your stay.
Therefore, in order to reduce the risk of missing out on what’s set to be the biggest and best Snowbombing to date, we strongly recommend that all Snowbombers get vaccinated.
Please note, your vaccine is valid for 9 months only after your second dose. See question 4 for more information on your booster vaccination.
3. I am not currently vaccinated. When do I need to get vaccinated in time for Snowbombing 2022?
If you have not yet been vaccinated – according to NHS recommendation of 8 to 12 weeks between doses in order to be double vaccinated by April 2022, please use the following dates as guidance:
1st Jab – by 20th December (allowing 12 weeks until 2nd jab)
2nd Jab – by 14th March*
*It typically takes 2 weeks after the second shot of the two-dose vaccines, to mount a full immune response. A COVID infection and its symptoms are still possible until the end of this waiting period.

4. I am already vaccinated. Do I need a booster jab before Snowbombing 2022?
Your vaccine is valid for 9 months only after your second dose. After that, a booster jab is required for a valid proof of vaccination. Therefore, if you had your 2nd jab before 14th June 2021, this will have expired by Snowbombing 2022, and you will need to book in a booster vaccination over the coming months.
