Marvellous Mayrhofen

Snowbombing simply wouldn’t be Snowbombing without Mayrhofen. It's extraordinary charm and magic can be felt in every nook and cranny - from the incredible ski resort spread across the valley that suits all abilities, to the charming guesthouses and wonderfully friendly locals, from the fact they help us throw Europe’s biggest fancy dress party each year, to the superb Zillertal beer produced just down the valley... This is the place that forged Hans the Butcher. Enough said.

SCOFF IN THE 'HOF

From stuffing kebabs into your face straight from the Bruck'n Stadl in-club take away, to eating fillet steak in the Mannis Hotel and clinking glasses of Moet with Carl Cox, Mayrhofen offers the fullest spectrum of dining imaginable. The beef comes from cows grazing literally feet away from the restaurants (you can see them peering nervously inside Cafe Tirol during the spring). Everything is fresh, delicious and evenly priced, meaning whatever your budget, you'll be able to scoff well in 'ze hof...

Spas & Saunas

Picture a festival where the only mud you'll encounter is in your face mask... Chalet go on? Our picturesque village of Mayrhofen plays host to some of the most luxurious spas in the Austrian mountains. Most of our hotels boast fantastic wellness areas, from roof top hot tubs offering panoramic views of the gasp-inducing peaks to balmy Moroccan themed pools and relaxation rooms. So kick off those ski boots, shake the pine cones from your hair and book in for a facial... That bruised ski bum deserves a rest.

LIFTS & FACILITIES

With 177 cable cars, a monstrous army of piste bashers and snow cannons, and a town packed with premium ski and snowboard retailers, Mayrhofen rightly sits in the Champions League of European Ski Resorts. Chuck in the recent return of the Penkenbahn - allowing an almighty 3,840 passengers to be carried up the mountain in a rapid eight minute trip (plus WIFI chucked in for good measure) - and you have a truly world class resort at your gloved fingertips.

THINGS TO DO

For those that don't ski or snowboard, or those that just fancy a day off the slopes, there's still tonnes of exciting things to be explored from our little Tyrolean doorstep: Paragliding, Snow Yoga, Snow Limos, Alpine coffee shops, table tennis, the Eagle's Stage Falconry and loads more. It's an Austrian wonderland... Wunderbar!

PARAGLIDING

For all those Adrenaline-junkies, grab yourself a spot on one of these and soar to even greater heights, taking in the stunning views across the Zillertal Valley from way above.

Snow Limo

Jump in one of these and be led gloriously around Mayrhofen's finest mountains by those in the know. Think Top Gear meets Cool Runnings... The perfect way to map your way around the slopes, bask in the April Sun and brush up on your German.. danke.

HIKING & BIKING

Once the snow goes and the green starts to show, the fun simply doesn’t just stop there. The town switches from shifting ski suits to spandex as hordes of mountain bikers tackle the very same piste you were attempting the 180 grab on previously… This town never sleeps! It’s just like New York (with decidedly more mountain goats…)
